How Much Does a Wedding DJ Cost in Jacksonville? An Honest 2026 Breakdown

The short answer

Compare the hours, sound, MC work and planning included in each quote. A reception-only booking and a full wedding day cover different needs.

What actually changes the price

Hours of coverage. Ceremony plus cocktail hour plus reception is a different job than reception only. More hours means more music planning, more equipment, and more time on site.

Sound and equipment. My packages include reception sound and wireless microphones. The six- and eight-hour packages also include separate ceremony sound and ceremony microphones. When you compare quotes, ask which spaces and moments are covered.

MC work. A DJ who just plays music and a DJ who runs your whole night as MC are two different services. Announcements, timeline management, keeping the photographer and caterer in sync: that coordination is a big part of what you’re paying for.

Bilingual MC. If your families speak English and Spanish, an MC who works in both languages is worth asking for specifically. It’s a specialty, and in my experience it changes the entire feel of the night for the Spanish-speaking side of the room.

Date and availability. Start by checking whether your date is open. Your booking agreement confirms the coverage and rate before you commit.

A short private party and a wedding are different bookings. Wedding coverage includes planning around entrances, speeches and other key moments, so compare the scope as carefully as the total.

What a professional actually includes

Your agreement should explain the coverage, payment schedule, cancellation terms and how changes are handled. Ask about anything that is unclear before signing.

In my case, I go one step further. I’ll scout your venue with you before the event. We walk the space together, figure out where sound needs to reach, where the dance floor lives, and what the room needs to work. That visit is how your timeline stops being a plan on paper and starts being a night that runs itself.

What I charge

My wedding prices are public. Compare the current packages and booking terms, then choose the hours that fit your day. Quinceañeras use the same production packages; shorter private events have their own rate.
